What recourse do I have if my employer hasnt paid me on time for 3 months?
I live and work in Amsterdam, Holland. My employer currently pays for my rent, however for the past 3 months they have paid me late. I am now due my 8% annual bonus and they are again, late paying. They are offering me a mere 100 euros as a gesture of kind, but my question is, why does my employer not allocate salaries from the start of the year? This is a fixed overhead. To make matters worse, I see them putting 'expenses' through the company accounts that are nothing to do with our company. What action can I legally take against my employer? Is it right that they can (for example) visit the Monaco grand prix on a hired yacht when they don’t pay salaries? Will the 100 euros cover all the charges I will incur the UK due to late payments? Can anyone help me

Do you have judische/rechtsbijstandsverzekering insurance? It's a form of legal aid (insurance) not mandatory but if you have it then you can seek legal advice via the insurance company free of charge. If not then you can also see advice (free) from http://www.juridischloket.nl/Pages/default.aspx. You can call them on 0900-8020 or send an email via the contact page http://www.juridischloket.nl/contact/Pages/default.aspx They wil advise you of your rights and what you can do & how. On a practical (non legal basis) I can try to offer a little advice (a) - should you accept €100 in lieu of the 8% holiday pay = No. You have a right to this money as part of your salary which is accured during the year and therefore a gesture of €100 is not acceptable so don't accept anything until you have sought advice, (b) why can they not allocate salaries from the begining of the year = in most companies this simply would not be a practical measure and especially for those ones with limited liquidy. They rely in income (invoices, sales etc) to be able to pay monthly costs including salaries. So it is not reasonable to expect them to accure one of their biggest outgoings on a yearly advance basis - however - this is no excuse for deferred payment and I would also seek advice about this point also (c) accounting and spending - practically speaking, how they spend their money of course is not up to the employees - but I can well understand your POV Get on the phone tomorrow morning and get help so that you have two feet to stand with. Should Obama just quit and let America become a third world country?
Maybe he should leave, put Limbaugh or Hannity in charge, and leave a card for the American people to call him back when they've had enough? I don't think this country learned their lesson. We should have elected the Palin/McCain moron crew and let this country's economy tank so badly, Somalia would look like Monaco compared to us. We should have let it tank so hard, Detroit would look like the world-class city of America! We should have let the American economy tank so hard, people in Haiti, Mexico, El Salvador and Jamaica would be hiring our girls as nannies, not the other way around! America can become like one third world country I've been to. Start running hamburger stands out of our houses, like their taco and roti stands. Jobs of the future, right? I think after that happened, then the universities would be shut down, take a guess why Republicans would do something like that. I bet for most people here, that would be the greatest thing ever to happen. Then everyone can go to trade school and become plumbers, bricklayers and steamfitters. The only problem is, no one will actually have the jobs required to actually pay for and put these people to work. I think by the time Americans are reduced to piracy, they will be begging Obama to come back and give them some "socialism," ROFLMAO! Pathetic!

Yeah, we did have a substantial decline in standard of living during the Bush administration. Our standard of living is declining as I type this response. Another neocon in office would have made matters even worse for the poor and middle class. And Obama is no socialist. He's actually quite pro business. Real socialists refer to him as a hedge fund Democrat because of his pro business voting record in Illinois. The folks that are currently in his administration are largely in favor of more Wall Street bailouts because they are from Wall Street. We actually need someone much farther to the left than Obama. When conservatives call Obama a socialist they don't know what the hell they are talking about.

It seems that people are wanting things to be settled and make money RIGHT NOW. but if it took us the better part of 8 years to get in this mess (longer if you want to put some blame on Clinton for the NAFTA deal). seems that he has a plan: 1. fix the foreign policy issue, no used in working on your economy and people want to start wars with you. 2. start working on programs to jump start the economy 3. get the federal spending in order (the recent line by line ending of wasteful programs) 4. work on issues that have always been a talking point of politicians, but never get fixed (Social Security, medical, education) I think he will deal with all the issues, but, I hope that people will let him do his job, and stop blaming every little "indecent" on Obama. thanks for putting your thoughts in such a well placed question.

So basically, my dream is to get into the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. I want to major into something dealing with business so I feel like Wharton would be ideal for me. Other Ivies are being looked at as well as Duke, Northwestern and the University of Michigan. Here is what I'm selling on craigslist. Hi, We are looking to sell our ps2 and 7 games. The ps2 works wonderfully, we have never had any problems with it. The controllers work well too, never had any problems with them either. It comes with all cords needed to attach it, one 8MB memory card, & 2 controllers. It comes with the following used games in great condition (played probably only 5 or so times each & all but 2 have manuals) -Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix (rated E 10+) -Pirates of the Caribbean at Worlds End, comes with manual (rated T) -Sonic MEGA Collection PLUS, comes with manual (rated E) (7 classic Sonic Games {Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic Spinball, Dr. Robotniks Mean Bean Machine, Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3} plus 6 additional Sonic Game Gear Titles, unlockable games & secrets, re-designed interface & extra bonus material) -SEGA Classics Collection, has manual (rated T) (Outrun, Space Harrier, Virtua Racing, Monaco GP, Tant R, Golden Axe, Columns, Fantasy Zone, Bonanza, Bros., Alien Syndrome) -PAC-MAN Fever, has manual (rated E) -Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (rated E) -Lets Ride Silver Buckle Stables, comes with manual (rated E) So what should I price this all at?
