Is a British citizen taxed in the UK if he/ she spends the entire tax year working in a tax free country (say Monaco/ Dubai)? (Assuming this is a contractual thing & only happens once every 3-4 years & is the only profession) Does UK claim taxes for this income? How can the money be remitted the following year without any tax implications?

If the person is absent from the UK for an entire tax year (6 April to 5 April), they would be considered non resident for tax purposes and not be liable to tax on their overseas earnings. It does not matter whether the income is remitted to the Uk or not.
