How are my chances for an Ivy League school

How are my chances for an Ivy League school?
I am a junior in high school, with a passion for business. I am already thinking of applying to the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton). I do need other schools to apply to though...help? I will be taking my SAT II's in June and APs in May. Here are my credentials: Unweighted: 4.0 ACT Composite: 33 ACT Math: 35 ACT Reading: 36 Rank: Top 5%; unfortunately, my school doesn't do ranks. However, my class consists of more than 400 kids... APs taken/planned to take: -Calc BC -English Lit -European History -Macroeconomics -Microeconomics -Physics B -Psychology -Spanish -US Government -World History Honors Classes: -Honors Physics -Honors Pre-Calc -Honors World Lit -Honors American Lit -Honors American History -Honors Algebra -Honors Geometry Other Classes Pertaining to Business: Marketing Independent Study in Marketing Economics Accounting Clubs/Sports/Other -Varsity Tennis (11-12)/Captain--(12) -DECA (10-12)--1st place at States (twice); Honorable Mention at Internationals and I'm hoping for placement at Internationals this year :) But we'll just have to see -Model United Nations (11-12)/Ambassador Extraordinaire(11-12) -National Honor Society (11-12)/President(12) -Volunteer Impact Program (11-12)Secretary(11)/President(12) -Student Leadership (10-12) ----In leadership, I'm in charge of Spirit Court Elections as well as Class Elections ----Volunteer at Graduation every year ----Part of Staff Appreciation Committee in Leadership (we give little gifts to teachers bi-monthly) -100+ Hours of Community Service -Winterfest Class of 2010 Princess -Kumon (since I was 4) and have completed the program in both Reading and Math -Piano (since I was 4, till I was 16) -Honor Roll, all high school years SAT Subject Tests (will be taking) -Math II -World History -Spanish Summers: Volunteered all my summers Before Freshmen year - I traveled the Mediterranean, learning the culture of Italy, Spain, Monaco and Croatia for 2 weeks. Between Freshmen and Sophomore years - I traveled to the Baltic, learning the culture of Russia, Estonia, Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark in 2 weeks Between Sophomore and Junior years - I attended the CTD (Center for Talent Development) at Northwestern University, taking AP European History in 3 weeks This summer, I plan on working and volunteering. So I was just wondering what you thought of my chances. I do know that I need a killer essay and a great interview but I know I can pull those off well. My basically assured university is the University of Michigan as I have contacts there, I am from the state of Michigan and my school is the largest sender into U of M. But, any other schools you'd recommend? Remember...I like business ;) Economics could work too. Let me know if you need any other information from me! io, no U of M is not an Ivy League, you're correct. But it is my back-up, and I'd adore going there especailly if Ross accepted me. John, thank you! I actually do prefer business, but I mean, if places like Yale accepted, I'd surely switch to econ. And haha, I took it at Northwestern (CTD) over the summer. I'll be taking the AP test in about 3 weeks and actually...I feel pretty good about it believe it or not! I don't know, CTD has had a great track record in the past about 4's and 5's on the AP's that are taught. It's a reallyyyy cool program, not going to lie. :)

Your resume looks... pristine. Perfect. I think you'll do fine. Aim for about a 2100 or higher cum. With 600+ in both verbal and math. (Math especially if you like business.) You're doing fine, I suggest you stop worrying so much. Because there's really not a lot of perfect resumes out there and people can still manage to get into IV league schools.

Remember that Wharton (UPenn) only takes 50 students/year from all over the world, so you have to have truly outstanding credentials to be considered for that program. I'm kind of surprised you haven't taken the SAT I's, since most elite schools seem to prefer that to the ACT. Obviously, your grades couldn't be any higher, and you have very good scores and extracurricular activities. Are they truly unusual? I'm not sure. It isn't that you are NOT eligible, it is just a matter of who else applies and what they bring to the table.

Nice GPA and activities =] I'd say you've got a very good chance at acceptance. What other schools were you thinking - and do you have a preference on business / econ ? If you don't mind me asking, how on earth did you take AP Euro in three weeks ? Did you take the AP exam, and if you did, how did you score ?

Get 2150+ on your SAT's, get good recs, write a good essay and you are set! Columbia, Brown, Yale, NYU, Warton (U Pen), Harvard. All Ivy leagues have good Business programs and you look set for just about any of them. The two hardest to get into will be Warton and Columbia. Harvard obviously will be hard but I am confident that you will get in.

woah i am totally jealous! i wish my grades & stuff was that good lol if i were you, i wouldn't bother taking the SATs because your ACT scores are really good already, why bother? haha you definitely would get into an ivy league school if all of these is true though. getting into UM would be a breeze. you should even try to apply to harvard, yale, princeton, etc. if money is an issue, they have programs where they will pay for everything (if your parents make less than $60,000/year). you should check it out.

Your credentials are great. The University of Michigan is not difficult to get into, so I would make that a safety school if anything. Your credentials should land you in UPenn, but Ivy League schools tend to be more fickle than other universities as far as admissions go. Legacies with less than stellar performances may be preferred sometimes over better qualified candidates. If I were you, I would make Stanford or MIT my number one choice. Both have great business schools and are as respected if not more respected than Ivy League universities. You might also want to take the SAT just to see how you do on it. A 33 on the ACT is equivalent to about a 2190 on the SAT. This is not a bad score, but room for improvement exists. Also, the SAT traditionally tests aptitude more than the ACT does, so it is a slightly different measure of a person's thinking. Something like a 35 on the ACT or a 2300 or above on the SAT would probably increase your chances of getting into the school of your choice.
