autobox, 4hp18 non electronic, wont shift to 2, so no 3 or 4 either, not linkage, not kickdown cable, not fluid or filter, all checked and changed, help! I'm a competent mechanic but have no info to work with. will coast in d, will decelerate in 1 so forward clutchpack fine, has to be a shifting issue. in a citroen but same as old eagle premier dodge monaco / saab 9000. 6000rpm at 35mph is not economical to drive!

Could be a solenoid in the valve body, are the wheels speed and input shaft sensors ok also? Pump pressure?, is the torque converter o.k.? Bands?

i had a similar problem once with turbo 400 3 spd box and it was just a vacuum hose that had come off from modulator a mechanic plugged it back in i had all gears again
